'When I die' is a personal project exploring what has been lost and what has been left behind. The project focuses on my Nana's recent loss of her husband, my Grandad. It presents the juxtaposition of her life alone but being surrounded by Bill's things. I also wanted to explore the ways in which people attempt to comfort people going through grief with their words, examining all the cards she recieved. This is a current on-going project which will eventually be presented in an exhibition in June 2023 in the Manchester School of Art SODA building. I have taken inspiration from artists who explore loss and family, such as Larry Sultan, Hanna Lenz and Rosy Martin. The title of my project derived from what my Grandad titled his self written wishes for his funeral.
